1987 March 87-C “Kraco” Indy Race Car
Most vintage racers are somewhere between intimidated and scared to death of actually driving a turbocharged Indy car—and for good reason

The CART series has long been America’s premier open wheel racing series, and with multiple championships, the Andretti racing family has been its most favored winners. Father and son Mario and Michael had overlapping careers, giving fans splendid battles for first place, with neither family member giving an inch. The March 87C on offer here was flown to Kraco Enterprises’ racing headquarters in Compton, CA, on January 14, 1987. Over 15 races that year in the PPG Indy Car World Series, Michael Andretti enjoyed a sensational season with chassis 87C-06, finishing second in the championship by the narrowest of margins with 158 points. Andretti scored two pole positions and qualified in the top five 13 times, winning four races at Milwaukee, Michigan, Nazareth and Miami. While most of the Indy cars one sees for sale have “also-ran” history or are non-running cars, by comparison, the car presented here was piloted by a famous driver and is historic race prepared....
