B&B's Sale of Hogan Collection Establishes Ten Records
Several Fords set records at B&B's sale of the Hogan Collection

Several Fords set records at B&B's sale of the Hogan Collection

Aurora, OR, June 30, 2007 - The success of the Jack Hogan Sale of Ford Motorcars far exceeded all expectations with Bonhams & Butterfields' principal auctioneer Malcolm Barber selling to an enthusiastic throng of Ford collectors that filled Hogan's hangar on a sunny day in Aurora, Oregon.

The gathered crowd consisted of a multitude of serious Ford V8 collectors from the four corners of the United States, Europe, long time friends looking to secure a 'keepsake' from the collection, and telephone bidders representing top US collectors and museums. The results of this sale demonstrated, without a doubt, that focused single-owner collections are the recipe for auction success. The collector's market has always been strong for early Ford V8s, and clearly the love affair ain't over!

Bonhams & Butterfields' team and the vendor himself matched the crowd's enthusiasm in equal measure. Dapper Jack Hogan, dressed in his dinner jacket, personally drove each and every vehicle in front of the gathered audience, spoke for a short time, sharing with the audience his long involvement with many of the cars, and then handed the audience over to the auctioneer.

Malcolm Barber, Bonhams & Butterfields Chief Executive Officer, noted "It was significant to have Jack Hogan introduce his cars and explain to an enthusiastic audience the meticulous work conducted on these cars while in his care. This attracted numerous bids and a record result. We are hoping to be back in the Northwest next year with a one-owner collection of like quality."

Mark Osborne, Head of Bonhams & Butterfields American Motoring Department added that "Jack's cars, whether they were Dearborn winners or beautiful original survivors, were exceptional. We had an exceptional turn out, and achieved exceptional results. Jack was a pleasure to work with and the US motoring department embraced his enthusiasm from day one." This was Jack Hogan's day, and we were all glad to be able to take part in presenting such a wonderful collection of motorcars to the open market.

Achieving 10 world record results, the Jack Hogan Collection of Ford Motorcars was an unmitigated success and 100% sold.
