Introduced in 1971 and in production until 1975, the BMW 3.0 CS shared the same wheelbase and style of the 2800 CS with an improved Karmann-built bodyshell, a full three-liter engine (straight-six overhead-camshaft) and four-wheel disc brakes. It provided more power and improved torque, output of 180 bhp being recorded on this model and even more when allied to Bosch fuel injection. The example pictured here is not injected, and has the desirable four-speed manual gearbox. It also features electric windows and power steering.
A right-hand-drive car, it is painted metallic blue with beige interior trim and upholstery and has had but a single lady owner from new. Garaged for most of its life, mileage of 55,000 is stated to be correct. The engine sounds good and has recently been serviced, the interior and transmission are described as good, electrics working, and bodywork and paintwork generally good apart from some localized corrosion. It comes with service records.
