| Likes | Toyota finally changes GS design from Guigaro's 1988 Geneva show car—the Jaguar Buckingham (Jag turned it down). Smooth, 300-hp V8 has six-speed automatic, smart handling dynamics and serious ticket potential. Cherry wood trim nice interior touch, navigation system simple, rain-sensing wipers almost get it right, crackerjack Levinson stereo. Reversing camera fun. Candy apple red paint best yet on production car. |
| Dislikes | Interior fan blows insistently on auto. Push-start button means key fob now a nuisance. Parking warning is intrusive: if you're that clueless, stay home. Raising roof/trunk line loses grace of Mercedes CLS, yet still no back seat. Paint match seems off on rear bumper. |
| Verdict | Toyota design committees are still struggling to combine wedge and teardrop shapes. This has unhappy Prius echoes. Feels like $50K, costs near $60K, won't ever be collectible. Good company car. Better yet, buy an LS 430. |
