![]() SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA (July 2, 2009) – Gooding & Company is delighted to announce the consignment of 50 automobiles from the renowned Michael Schudroff Collection, the majority of which will be sold without reserve at its annual Pebble Beach Auctions on August 15 and 16, 2009. Consisting of fifty post-war automobiles, the collection focuses on both rare European coachbuilt sports and luxury cars and top of the line American cars. Every car is of exceptional quality, and nearly every example is either exceedingly original or restored to outstanding concours quality standards. The Schudroff Collection is in addition to Ettore Bugatti’s personal car – the 1938 Bugatti Type 57C Coupe, and the Don and Joan Lyons Collection of important historical racecars, which will also be sold without reserve at Gooding & Company’s upcoming auction. Michael Schudroff’s many years in the fine automobile business have given him an exceptional eye for quality. In fact, he was the world’s largest factory authorized Rolls-Royce and Bentley dealer for over ten years. His passion for excellence and interest in the people and stories associated with cars are reflected in his spectacular private collection – every car is either in outstanding original condition or has been lovingly restored with an extraordinary attention to detail. This stunning collection of post-war cars contains some of the most exclusive, low-production automobiles, one-off designs and highly optioned classics. “Michael Schudroff’s passion for collecting the absolute finest examples he could find has resulted in a collection that is without rival," said David Gooding, president of Gooding & Company. "I have never seen a collection of post-war cars that was so remarkable. Michael’s discriminating eye and knowledge led to amassing a true connoisseur’s collection.” Highlights include two fabulous Bertone-bodied Aston Martins, the incomparable Pininfarina Corvette “Rondine”, one-off Alfa Romeos, extraordinary examples of the rare Dual-Ghias and Facel-Vegas, and a group of highly original survivors that includes a Chrysler Town & Country Convertible, a Plymouth Superbird and a 427 Corvette. There are also a number of outstanding Ferraris, Rolls-Royce, Mercedes-Benz and Bentleys, all of which will be offered without reserve. With such a diverse grouping of high-quality cars being offered without reserve, it makes for an exciting opportunity for collectors. 50 Cars of the Michael Schudroff Collection Offered at Gooding & Company’s Pebble Beach Auction, August 15–16, 2009: 1953 Aston Martin DB 2/4 Drop Head Coupe 1957 Chevrolet Corvette 283 Fuelie 4-Speed 1966 Chevrolet Corvette 427/450 Coupe 1954 Chevrolet Corvette 1954 Aston Martin DB 2/4 Competition Spider 1959 Cadillac Series 64 Eldorado Biarritz Convertible 1963 Chevrolet Corvette "Rondine" 1953 Allard K3 Roadster 1970 Plymouth Road Runner Superbird 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Convertible 1960 Pontiac Bonneville Convertible "Tri-Power" 1954 Kaiser Darrin 161 1962 Dual-Ghia L 6.4 1970 Oldsmobile 442 Convertible 1958 DeSoto Firesweep Convertible 1957 Pontiac Bonneville Fuel-Injected Convertible 1951 Lincoln Cosmopolitan Convertible Coupe 1960 Cadillac Series 62 Eldorado Convertible 1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air Nomad 1971 Chevrolet Monte Carlo 1953 Cadillac Series 62 Eldorado Convertible 1948 Chrysler Town & Country Convertible 1949 Chrysler Town & Country Convertible 1967 Jaguar E-TypeSeries 1 4.2-Litre Roadster 1953 Packard Carribean 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Sunliner E-Code 1957 Dual Ghia 1967 Shelby GT350 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T Convertible 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud lll Saloon 1995 Bentley Continental Turbo Convertible 1965 Rolls-Royce Cloud lll Continental Coupe 1954 Alfa Romeo 1900 Coupe 1962 Facel-Vega Facel II 1957 Facel-Vega FV2B Convertible 1960 Aston Martin DB4 Series II 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900 SS Cabriolet 1957 AC Ace Bristol Roadster 1961 Maserati 3500 GT Spider 1964 Shelby 289 Cobra 1956 Talbot-Lago T14 LS 1957 BMW 503 Cabriolet 1953 Nash-Healey Roadster 1957 Ferrari 250 GT "Low-Roof" Berlinetta 1966 Aston Martin DB6 Mk I Vantage 1966 Ferrari 275 GTS 1956 Bentley Sl Continental Coupe 1952 Mercedes-Benz 220A Cabriolet 1953 Packard Clipper Deluxe Club Sedan 1953 Jaguar XK120 Roadster The Gooding & Company Pebble Beach Auction is located at the Pebble Beach Equestrian Center.
