$35m For Most Expensive Car Ever |

Bloomberg reports that the apple-green 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO built for Stirling Moss has sold for $35m—a world record price, eclipsing the previous $30m to $34m reportedly paid for a 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic in 2010. American collector Craig McCaw, of Seattle, WA, purchased the car in a private transaction from Dutch-born businessman Eric Heerema. McCaw made his fortune when he sold his company, McCaw Cellular, to AT&T for $11.5 billion in 1993. Heerema purchased the car a decade ago for about $8.5m from Japanese collector Yoshiho Matsuda.
