Great sounding V8, and with 302 hp and 339 lb-ft of torque there’s never a shortage of power; easier to get in and out of than a true sports car; beautiful colors are an interior decorator’s dream; convenient keyless ignition.
The big and tall may not fit well, even in the front; back seats have limited use beyond carrying packages; just one tiny, flimsy cup holder; aggravating keyless ignition warning display is the seat-belt buzzer of the 21st century.
With the V8, the CLK cab is something of a mini, soft-top SL, but without as much visual panache or prestige. I liked the car, but the price makes you stop and think—$65K for what is essentially a two-seater? Of course, the back seat area comes in handy when you’re doing really serious shopping, and that’s worth something, isn’t it.
