Compact package crams in 300-horsepower, twin-turbo engine, delivers 0–60 mph in 5.1 seconds. Nice looks, great handling (with $1,000 sport package), good build quality, and reasonable price. Convertible version pretty.

Dislikes

Feels heavy. Rear seat as tight as Mini Clubman. Tacky metal dashboard trim, rubbery gearshift action.

Verdict

Who needs the BMW 3-Series? Perfect track-day alternative to Mitsu Evo with less attention from cops and more comfort as a daily driver.
