More than 60 SCM subscribers, friends and associates turned out for the fourth annual SCM Rétromobile reception on Wednesday February 4. Donald Osborne, SCM Editor at Large and principal of Automotive Valuation Services, and Ed Fallon of Cave Creek Classics hosted the event, which took place at the Café Jambon a la Broche at the Porte de Versailles Expo Centre in Paris.

With an ever more crowded schedule of previews, auctions, special displays and the lure of Paris itself, this fixture remains a must-do for our U.K.- and European-based friends who enjoy lifting a glass of vin rouge and for Americans just yearning to hear some English after a long day.

As always, a toast was offered to our late great friend and master of all things Parisian, “Uncle” Raymond Milo. Attendees shared predictions for the results of the auction sales to follow in the next 72 hours and celebrated or bemoaned the day’s Dollar/Euro exchange rate ($1= €1.12), depending which side of the Atlantic your bank account called home.

Special thanks to SCMer Carlos Madera, the local resident who kept the event banner safe and sound since last year. Be sure to mark your calendars for the opening night of Rétromobile 2016, when the gang will gather once again for a party that can only happen in the City of Light.
