Auctions America by RM will roll into South Florida March 16-18, 2012, for its annual Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale auction at the Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Attracting automotive enthusiasts of all ages, Auctions America will offer more than 500 automobiles, a select range of collectible motorcycles and memorabilia for sale during its three-day event.

“Auctions America’s Fort Lauderdale event has carved a reputation as South Florida’s premier collector car auction,” said Donnie Gould, Auctions America by RM’s president. “The wide range of offerings from Brass Era motor cars to American classics, muscle cars and European sports cars has made it an important part of the local scene. People flock to Florida to enjoy the sun and surf, and then they want to take home the ultimate souvenir – a collector car from Auctions America.”

A true “capital C” Classic automobile (as determined by the Classic Car Club of America), the two-tone cream-and-tan 1935 Auburn 851 Cabriolet (est. $100,000 – $125,000) will garner attention as it takes the stage. Fitted with an optional supercharged 280-cid straight-eight Lycoming engine, the Speedster has whitewall tires on the correct wire wheels with a rear-mounted spare contained by a painted hard cover.

Manufactured in the final year of Chrysler’s lavish CL series, a 1933 Chrysler CL Phaeton (est. $350,000 – $400,000) will be featured with no reserve price. One of 36 Phaetons built from Chrysler’s top-of-the-line CL series, the Chrysler has a known provenance from new. It is equipped with a Delco Remy ignition, Lockheed hydraulic brakes, “Floating Power” automatic vacuum clutch, hydraulic hoses, automatic heat control, downdraft carburetion and safety glass throughout. Graceful fender lines, long hood and dramatic beltline accent this beautiful Classic that would make an elegant addition to any collector’s garage.

Additional Fort Lauderdale auction highlights include:

– A striking black 1970 Pontiac GTO Judge convertible (est. $180,000 – $220,000) that has benefitted from a frame-off concours-quality restoration prior to its arrival at Auctions America;

– A Highland Green 1968 Shelby GT-500KR convertible (est. $160,000 – $200,000) with a black interior;

– A stunning Fly Yellow 2007 Ferrari F430 Spyder F1 (est. $180,000 – $200,000) that has less than 4,500 miles on the odometer, Daytona-style seats and sports many carbon fiber appointments, including the steering wheel, the F1 shifter paddles and the instrument surround. This Ferrari will be offered with no reserve.

“Our Fort Lauderdale event offers the perfect dream car for any taste,” added Gould. “The diverse selection of high-quality vehicles appeals equally to veteran collectors and those entering the hobby. Auctions America’s expert team of collector car and motorcycle specialists will create a transparent atmosphere to allow bidders to wisely select and then buy in confidence. This auction will be a highlight of the spring season in Florida.”
