San Francisco, CA – 22 March 2010 – Bonhams is pleased to announce the joining of forces with the Historic Motor Sports Association (HMSA) by having been named the organization’s exclusive auctioneers.

As stewards of historic automobiles, HMSA is one of the most respected racing organizations in North America, sanctioning the world-famous Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion (formerly known as the Monterey Historic Automobile Races). Created in 1977 to serve as the sanctioning body for premiere racing events, it remains the only West Coast organization to mandate that cars race as they were and not what they could have been (historically correct within the time period the car originally competed).

Says Cris Vandergriff, President of HMSA, “I can think of no finer, more knowledgeable team than the people of Bonhams’ Motoring Department. They have a great understanding of the cars and the market as well as a hands-on approach via participation at racing events around the world. While many competing auction houses have courted us over the years, it is Bonhams that we feel best fits with our organization and represents the quality we foster.”

Mark Osborne, Head of Bonhams Motoring Department – and an active Lotus racer in HMSA competitions – adds, “We are thrilled to receive the endorsement and partnership of such a respected group of enthusiasts. HMSA’s mission is absolutely critical to the hobby we represent and becoming their official auctioneers is indeed a compliment.”

In addition to motoring auctions scheduled almost monthly worldwide, Bonhams has three anticipated sales in America coming up:

•May 8th, Quail Lodge, Carmel, CA – motorcycles

•June 6th, Greenwich, CT – motorcars

•August 12th-13th, Quail Lodge, Carmel, CA – motorcars
