SCM has learned that Mecum Auctions will put a one-owner 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 roadster over the Monterey block on Saturday, August 14. This car is from the estate of the late Karl “Fritz” Schiffmayer.
Schiffmayer bought the car new in 1966 from Jack Loftus Ford in Hinsdale, IL.
Another one of Schiffmayer’s favorite cars, a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4, will go over the block on the same day.
Mecum’s Monterey auction starts with car previews on Thursday, August 12. Cars will be auctioned on Friday, August 13 and Saturday, August 14. Mecum’s auction is at the Hyatt Regency Monterey Hotel & Spa on Del Monte Golf Course. For more information, visit www.mecum.com
