CARLISLE, Pa. – General Motors announced today that the exciting, new Camaro convertible concept car will be on display at the Carlisle All-GM Nationals June 22-24, 2007. The Camaro Coupe concept was the star of the ’06 GM Nationals; GM literally blew the top off it and it appears that fans will be flocking in droves to see the new convertible.
Rick Markko, Event Planner for the Carlisle GM show predicts, “I’m really excited; the new Camaro convertible concept should draw an even larger audience than the Coupe did last year. This car just screams ‘drive me hard’.” He goes on to say, “Hey Pontiac fans! Can you imagine this car as a Firebird/Trans-Am? Come, gawk and dream with the rest of us, as we join forces to present 1000 F-bodies gathered at the All-GM Nationals!”
The Chevy Camaro convertible concept debuted at the North American International Auto Show this past January to rave reviews. Only minor changes were made to last year’s design to accommodate the convertible body style. The Camaro Coupe will go on sale in 2009, with plans for the convertible later in the year.
In addition to the Camaro convertible concept, GM will be sending a number of other cars from their Heritage Collection. GM has some 600 automobiles in their collection of classics. The 2007 Carlisle All-GM Nationals has lots to offer. This is the 50th anniversary of the ’57 Chevy and the 40th anniversary of the F-Body Camaro and Firebird.
