The Concours d’Elegance of America is pleased to announce their Second Annual Concours Open Track Event will be held at Waterford Hills Road Racing (W.H.R.R.I.) on Wednesday, July 25, 2012. The event will be managed by the staff of Waterford Hills Road Racing, Inc. All modern and vintage cars that can pass the safety and sound requirements are eligible to be driven on the road course.

The Concours Open Track Event is just part of an exciting week of activities that are being held before and during the 34th Annual Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John’s.

In addition to the Open Track Event, W.H.R.R.I. will also be hosting the Second Annual Waterford Hills Vintage Race Weekend to be held on Friday, July 26 through Sunday, July 29 at their 1.5 mile club circuit. The event showcases several vintage race groups each day and will also feature a Trans-Am 2.5 Challenge Race and modern Corvette Challenge Race. Both Trans-Am and Corvette are featured marks at the Concours as well. Some of the cars seen racing on Saturday at the track can be seen up close on the Concours field on Sunday. For more information on the vintage races, visit the W.H.R.R.I. webpage at http://www.waterfordhills.com/.

“This is actually the resurrection of an old relationship,” said Concours Executive Director Jim McCarter. “For many years there was vintage racing held at Waterford Hills in conjunction with the Concours. Now Waterford Hills has brought back the vintage racing and we’re excited to be adding an open track element.”

“Waterford Hills is excited about the renewed Concours relationship,” said club President Joel Hershoren. “Last year saw the successful return of the vintage races to our track and the event was very well received by competitors, media and spectators. With our new alliance, our events can work together to highlight classic automobiles and showcase vintage race cars on a local historic track. This is a town based on automotive heritage and it’s important that we keep some of that heritage alive through this vintage road racing spectator event.”

Pre-registration is required for this event. Mail the completed form and payment, or register online at www.myautoevents.com.
