Coronado Speed Festival Announces New Web Site

SAN DIEGO, May 30, 2007 – The Coronado Speed Festival, the cornerstone event for Fleet Week San Diego, is pleased to announce a new and improved website. The Coronado Speed Festival’s chair, Larry Blumberg, and Fleet Week San Diego’s Executive Director, Tom Caughlan, joined together with the mission of putting information about the event online, with access to videos, updated news and photos at visitor’s fingertips.

News about the event is located on the Fleet Week San Diego webpage, and the pages specifically dedicated to the Coronado Speed Festival offers interactive links as well as information about the 2007 occurrences, information of relevance about year’s previous and other key racing, military and car-related information. The website can be accessed at http://fleetweeksandiego.org/coronadospeedfestival.

When visiting the site, visitors can enjoy a video presentation of previous year’s events highlighting the exciting activities and races taking place by clicking on the link to the left. This video gives visitors an opportunity to see the historic cars that participate in the event. Other features include up-to-date news about the event, information on participating in the 2nd annual car show and the multiple sponsorship opportunities businesses have to support the men and women of the military.

The website also offers guests an opportunity to purchase tickets to the event online for the first time in the event’s history. By clicking on the “ClicknPrint” logo, guests will be able to purchase tickets, transfer tickets to friends or family members or have printed tickets re-issued for any reason.

The webpage will also include credentials for media personnel. As the event grows closer, the website will also offer a link to request media credentials for the event.

The Coronado Speed Festival is produced by San Diego Fleet Week Foundation and hosted by the Naval Base Coronado and the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Program (MWR) which benefits military personnel and their families. They in turn provide positive support for the active duty military community and their families through Quality of Life Programs including single Sailor Recreation Centers, Fitness and Aquatic Facilities and the Base Theatre Free Movies. The Southern California community is given this unbelievable opportunity to thank the men and women defending our freedom in person.

Advance purchase general admission tickets are available for purchase on the Fleet Week website (http://fleetweeksandiego.org/coronadospeedfestival) – $25 one day and $30 for both days. Tickets will also be available at the venue ($30 for one day and $40 for both days). Children 12 and under are free with paid adult admission.
