5-10 de Noviembre 2006
Seven days to go until the start of the Tour de España 2006. The competitors are putting the finishing touches to their cars, the organisers are ready, and the sun seems almost guaranteed for the 8th edition of this historic rally !

It should be reminded that the technical and administrative checks, as the start of the eigth Tour de España, will be done at the ‘Parque del Retiro’ in Madrid. Situated next to the most elegant part of Madrid it is near the Musee du Prado, The Ritz Hotel and Places Cibeles and Neptuno. It’s adjacent to the ‘Place de la Indepencia’ (Peurta de Alcala), probably the most popular monument in the capital. The gardens there, designed in the 17th century for King
Philippe IV, made up part of the former royal residence of the Kings of Spain until it became public in 1868. The gardens even included a race track where, until the sixties, they raced cars and motorbikes.

The finish will take place in the magical surroundings of the port of the Americas Cup. When those passionate about automobile racing surround the home of the most prestigious yacht race in the world, we can be sure that emotion and respect will be present!

Between these two fantastic moments of the rally, which this year has 125 entries, the competitors will in 5 days cross Spain on the roads of this beautiful country. Ferrari 250 GTE, Alfa Roméo Giulietta, Ford GT 40, Lotus Elan, AC Cobra… all these cars will get the local population dreaming as they bring back the most beautiful moments in the history of Rallying.
