EFFINGHAM, ILLINOIS, August 18, 2009 – Dave McLellan will be a featured guest during the 16th annual Corvette Funfest held on the corporate campus of Mid America Motorworks in Effingham, IL on September 25-27, 2009. Corvette Funfest brings together over 14,000 Corvettes and 45,000 Corvette Enthusiasts for a 3-day weekend filled with seminars, a Fun Display Car Show and daily entertainment.

After the retirement of Zora Arkus-Duntov in 1975, Mr. McLellan took over as the second-ever Corvette Chief Engineer and led the new generation of C4 into the market. He was instrumental in launching the Corvette Challenge Race Series in 1988. A showcase for the Corvette’s performance, the series provided a convenient venue for final development of his most prized achievement, the Corvette ZR-1. A National Corvette Museum Hall of Famer, Dave retired in 1992. The author of “Corvette From the Inside,” a critical and historic view of the Chevrolet Corvette from a hard-core, engineering perspective, he now enjoys attending Corvette events throughout the country.
