Hilton Head Island, SC – The Hilton Head Concours d’Elegance & Motoring Festival is back with new and exciting additions, November 1-4, 2007.

Organizers are enthusiastic about the 6th annual show. Carolyn Vanagel, Executive Director of the Motoring Festival stated, “We are expecting record breaking crowds and are excited to introduce island residents and visitors to some brand new exhibits. We have found a successful formula that is unique relative to other Concours events, which will be the key to our success and longevity.”

In addition to what have become the ‘staples’ of the four-day event – the Hilton Head/Savannah Historics track event at Roebling Road Raceway, Thursday & Friday, November 1 – 2; the Saturday Car Club Jamboree, Saturday, November 3; the Concours d’Elegance ‘Best of Show’ competition, Sunday, November 4 – the Concours team has planned some exciting new features. For the first year, there will be a display of vintage motorcycles with the hopes that it will become a permanent judging class in the Concours. A unique exhibit displaying the history of first responders will showcase antique fire trucks and ambulances plus modern emergency apparatus, a first for a Concours. Italian sports cars such as Ferrari, Lamborghini, Fiat and Alfa Romeos will be featured in Saturday’s Jamboree. And, Cadillac/LaSalle, the revered American automotive manufacturer, will be highlighted throughout the entire show as this year’s honored marque. A special display of a one-of-a-kind 1908 Tulip Cadillac, which took 18 years to restore will be on exhibit both Saturday & Sunday in the Quest for Speed & Style.
Additionally, the Concours will bring back both the Southern Belle Fashion Show on Thursday, November 1 and the astounding Hilton Head Auction conducted by noted specialists, The Worldwide Group, on Saturday, November 3.

Carolyn Vanagel, the event’s Executive Director also introduced this year’s “official” level sponsors who include BMW Group, Marriott Hilton Head Beach & Golf Resort, Hargray Communications, Memorial Health, SunTrust and Adventure Radio Group. “We are extremely pleased to have so many of our sponsors involved year after year. Their continuous support has helped strengthen our event to this esteemed level,” said Vanagel. “And, it is the newer sponsors that show our growth as a regional event.”

Max Metcalf, Assistant Manager for Community Relations for BMW Manufacturing Co., said, “BMW Group is very proud to be back again for its 6th year as the Official Automotive Sponsor of the Motoring Festival. We enjoy the event, appreciate being of part of Hilton Head Island and are excited to see the event grow in terms of sponsors, volunteers and attendance.” This year, BMW Group will bring several makes and models to the festival including the 2007 Rolls Royce Phantom, the 2007 328 convertible with a retractable roof, the newest vehicle by BMW, and the 2007 X5 4.8 made in South Carolina at the Spartanburg plant.
