In addition to the impressive list of competition Porsches* that have been consigned to the mid-August auction in California, Bonhams will be offering several other racing cars of importance.
1959 Sadler-Meyer Special: The three-time winning and three-time record-setting Giant’s Despair Hill Climb racer was built by legendary Canadian engineer Bill Sadler for John van Meyer. Together with its extraordinary hill climb titles, the car has also competed with distinction in numerous races throughout the US and has proven itself one of the greatest specials made. Estimate $650,000-$750,000.

1977 Stanley-BRM 3-liter P207 Formula One
: This notable F1 car represents the final effort from the legendary British Championship-winning constructor BRM. With its 12 cylinders providing a fantastic soundtrack and immense power just behind the driver’s seat, it has the potential to be a front-running car in worldwide Historic F1 events today. Estimate $250,000-$350,000.

1962 Cooper Monaco MK IV
: Raced by multiple Formula One World Championship driver and Indy 500 winner Graham Hill, this car appeared on the cover of Moto Racing magazine in February 1963 as a result of its win at Riverside by driver William Sturgis. It has recently been restored and is ready for historic competition. Estimate $225,000-$275,000.

Mario Andretti’s former 1987 March 87C Turbocharged Kraco Indy Racer
: This blisteringly fast car was campaigned to great success in the PPG Indy Car World Series by none other than Mario Andretti. After narrowly missing first place by just a few points, Andretti finished second in the series of 15 races by way of two pole positions, qualifying in the top five 13 times, and winning four races outright. Estimate $40,000-$50,000.
