Dear Motorcycle Enthusiast:
If you ‘dig the dirt,’ don’t plan on being anywhere but the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum on Thursday, July 14, 2005. That evening, at 6:30 pm, with a little help from friends like David Bailey, Mike Bell, Roger DeCoster and Dick Burleson, we will dedicate the groundbreaking two-year exhibit, “Motocross America,” followed by an exclusive Motocross Reunion celebration in the Museum from 7 pm to 9 pm. And throughout the weekend, we will continue to honor the sport and its legends with special events at the annual AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days, held July 15 to 17 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course near Lexington, Ohio. Tickets for the evening reception following the dedication ceremony are just $25 ($20 AMA members) and proceeds support the education and preservation mission of the Museum. And, keep in mind that all proceeds from Vintage Days also benefit the Museum.
Motocross America is the first ever exhibit to chronicle the evolution of motocross from underground cult status to mainstream pop culture. From the champions who left their mark to the machines, technology and gear that fueled the sport’s phenomenal growth, you’ll enjoy over 8,000 square feet of gallery space dedicated to presenting the stories and legends of motocross. We’ve even added a racing resource center, designed to inspire the next generation of champions.
If you’ve never been to the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum, July 14 is the date you need to join us. The benchracing will be unparalleled, and whether you’re on the competition or industry side, we need your support in honoring the individuals who created today’s high-profile sport. We also think you’ll enjoy sticking around for AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days. Not only does it feature great racing, but with over 1,000 vendors and 50,000 motorheads expected to attend this year, it’s the world’s largest moto swap meet. The Museum will again host the Motorhead Café hospitality tent, featuring events throughout the weekend, such as autograph sessions from “Motocross America” champions. We also hope you’ll join us as champs take a Lap of History at the motocross track – once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunities guaranteed.
To RSVP for the Motocross Reunion, contact Amy Krak at the Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum by phone (614) 856-2222 ext. 1340 or e-mail at email@example.com. For out-of-state travelers, please inquire about available room blocks minutes from the Museum in Reynoldsburg, Ohio (just a few miles east of Columbus) or go to the Museum website, www.motorcyclemuseum.org.
