Jaguar Racing Club’s final newsletter

(Letter addressed to newsletter recipient)

As you will be aware, Red Bull, the Austrian energy drink company, has bought the Jaguar Racing F1 team just hours before the deadline for entering a team in next year’s F1 World Championship.

The deal safeguards 340 jobs at the team’s Milton Keynes HQ and means there will be 10 teams on the F1 grid next season, which is great news for the sport.

The new Red Bull team will use engines made by Cosworth, which Ford confirmed it had sold to Kevin Kalkhoven and Gerald Forsythe, U.S. Champ Car co-owners.

“I am really pleased that Red Bull has bought Jaguar Racing” commented Richard Parry-Jones, Group Vice President-Global Product Development and Chief Technical Officer, Ford Motor Company. “I am re-assured that we have sold our F1 businesses to new owners who have long histories in the sport and want to take these great companies forward. I am very pleased to announce this outcome”.

Parry-Jones concluded by personally thanking all who have been associated with Jaguar Racing’s success story including you, the fans.
