The preliminary results are in from Mecum’s second annual Dallas sale, and the figures look impressive. Total sales (including 6% premium) currently stand at $31.6m, with many post-block deals still in the works. Mecum predicts a final total surpassing $32m, once all sales are tallied. The total sell-through rate of approximately 70% sent 808 vehicles from the Dallas Convention Center to new homes.

The auction kicked off the day after Labor Day on Wednesday Sept. 5, with a collection of 96 vehicles from The Cars of Hallbrook. Mecum dedicated the entire first day at Dallas to present the collection with reserve, and sold 82 of 96 vehicles for $5.21 million and 85% sell-through. The “an auction within an auction” concept worked well with both the seller and buyers alike. Top seller from the collection was a 05 Ford GT selling for $187,500 (hammer). Top seller for the week was a well documented triple-black 1967 Corvette 427/435 convertible selling at $285,000 (hammer price) followed by a real-deal ’69 Yenko Camaro at $240,000 (hammer).
