“The Mille Miglia Event is an Italian historic Motoring Event, as well as the Coliseum and Michelangelo’s Pietà. Our purpose is to bring out this historic motoring event, not only from an agonistic-sporting point of view, but
rather giving prominence to Brescia and Rome cities, as well as to all the local venues that will be crossed along the route of the rally. This way, it will be a great showcase of Made in Italy excellences”: states Alessandro Casali, President of the Mille Miglia Organizing Committee.

Born in 1927, in 2007 Mille Miglia crossed the line of 80 years of history, a long life marked out by great pilots’ names and set on the background of Italian society evolutions and changes. The year 2008 revival, held, as
every year, under the aegis of Brescia Automobile Club, is not simply meant to be a celebrative time and a historic revival: the new Organizing Committee (composed by MAC Events, Meet Comunicazione and SanremoRally, which will be responsible of Mille Miglia organization until 2012) intend to emphasize its characteristics of great international event, also through many presentations abroad. The city of Vienna will inaugurate these series of appointments, on 21st February, at the Museum of Technique, where an important Classic Cars exhibition is already taking place.

The event, promoted by Fiat Austria, will be sponsored by Vitali Spa, Allianz and Bresciatourism, Brescia city council, Regione Lombardia and with Arena di Verona as artistic sponsor. “A great news for this 2008 year – explained Sandro Binelli , General Secretary of the Mille Miglia Organizing Committee – is that, after 25 years, more Joint Presenting Sponsor will be involved (Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Mercedes-Benz, Lancia, Fiat, Jaguar, Audi). “Among the Organizing Committee strategic goals – stated Sandro Binelli– the first one is the wide promotion of Mille Miglia
history and values, already known all over the world, as confirmed by the Mille Miglia related event in Japan, its re-organization in USA, and the creation of new commemorative events in further countries. To enhance the
event sporting soul, a Mille Miglia community is under way in order to register the cars which took part both into the historic speed races and into the revivals”.

The great news in logistics will be the Mille Miglia Paddock, located at Brescia Fair Ground (Brixia-Expo). The Mille Miglia Paddock will welcome participants and their cars, thus solving many practical problems connected
with traffic and parking in the city center. “According to the tradition – added Binelli –, we will celebrate, in Brescia’s public squares, the meeting between the town and the cars”.

The rally will start on Thursday 15th May: from 8.30 am to 12 in Piazza
