Hello to all of you from the Monterey Peninsula! Here?s a ?rst, fast look at what happened during the biggest week of the year in the collector car world. All sale results are preliminary at this point, but it looks like Monterey 2013 will easily blow away the record $260 million in auction sales reached in 2012. The stunning sale of the 1967 Ferrari GTB/4 NART Spyder for $27,500,000 rocked the RM Auctions sale on Saturday night. On Friday night, RM sold a whopping $51,635,000 of cars. Official Saturday night results are not yet available. For more information, visit www.rmauctions.com.

Bonhams rode the $4,647,500 sale of a 1931 Bentley 4 1/2-Litre Supercharged Le Mans car to a $29m total at their Quail Lodge sale in Carmel, which was a big jump from the $10m total in 2012.

Gooding & Company?s sale of a 1957 Ferrari 250 GT 14-Louver Berlinetta for $9,460,000 — along with a 1997 McLaren F1 that went for $8,470,000 — put more than $53 million on the board Saturday night. But Gooding wasn?t done, as the Sunday sale just after the conclusion of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance added another $59 million, for a total of $112m.

Mecum has not released a total figure yet, but they did sell a 1955 Porsche 550/1500 RS Spyder for $3.75m (hammer price). We?re still waiting for numbers from the Russo and Steele. We?ll keep you updated as the auction houses release information.
