Richmond, VA –Adding to its broad range of capabilities, Motley’s Auction & Realty Group has decided to move forward with plans for a distinct Collector Car Division. The necessity for this was required in order to deal with the increasing number of Antique, Classic, Sports & Exotic vehicle consignments that the Antiques and Auto Auction Divisions have been offered as well as automobilia, automotive parts and related collectibles.

The new MotleySelect Collector Car Auctions Division will handle all upcoming Motley’s Group sales of this nature beginning with their inaugural Select Classic & Sports Car Auction to be held this September in conjunction with the Central Virginia British Car Club’s 24th-annual Classics on the James. On Downtown Richmond’s Brown’s Island in the middle of the famous James River and alongside the Revolutionary War era Kanawha Canal, the Classics on the James was traditionally a British-only event until opened to European marques and British or European coachbuilt vehicles in 2005. The success of Classics since that time has been extraordinary with both the numbers of registered vehicles and attendees increasing by nearly 40% over 2004. C.V.B.C.C. President Bruce Woodson and his able staff of volunteers and local Richmond-area businesses have thus continued to develop the event due to the increased demand into a weekend of enjoyment that is capped off by the show on Sunday, and his invitation to Motley’s to make it even more enjoyable was gladly accepted. This year’s featured marque for the event is Jaguar, made all the more appropriate since the Jaguar Club of North America have committed to a regional Concours and judging event for the best of the best from the marque for some years now.

While finalizing the consignments list for the April 17-18 Classic & Collector Car Auction at the Richmond Auto Auction, MotleySelect is now accepting consignments for this upcoming sale to be held on the James September 12-13, 2008. Consignments will be accepted until the end of July at which point the catalog will be published and sent to registered bidders and other interested parties. Quality British and European automobiles will be accepted; discount catalog fees will be extended to those consigning more than three. Excellent large collections will also be happily considered for this event and those responsible for marketing them are encouraged to contact MotleySelect representatives at their earliest convenience for the best possible publicity.
