Renowned Southern California Museum to Display Significant Automobiles at France’s Largest Exhibition of Classic and Antique Vehicles

Oxnard, Calif. (December 19, 2011) – The Mullin Automotive Museum, a Southern California institution dedicated to the preservation of French Art Deco era art and automobiles, today announced that it is bringing 10 automobiles from the museum’s extraordinary collection to Paris, France, for the 37th annual Rétromobile exhibition February 1-5.

Established in 1976, Rétromobile is France’s largest exhibition of classic and antique automobiles, celebrating the history of the automobile. Each year, the prestigious five-day event attracts as many as 90,000 visitors. With only 400 vehicles selected to participate at Rétromobile, it is a rare opportunity for the Mullin Automotive Museum to have so many automobiles on display at the event.

The Mullin Automotive Museum is bringing some of the most historically significant vehicles from its collection of prewar coachbuilt French automobiles including but not limited to, the 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic, 1934 Voisin C-25 Aerodyne and the 1938 “Million Franc” Delahaye Type 145 V12 racer. The 1936 Bugatti Type 57SC, one of only two surviving examples, is regarded as the most valuable automobile in the world. The 1934 Voisin C-25 Aerodyne recently received the coveted “Best of Show” title at the 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, one of the highest honors for a classic automobile. The 1938 “Million Franc” Delahaye Type 145 V12 racer is one of the most iconic vehicles in motorsports history, as it was the first vehicle to break the world speed record in 1937, averaging 146.654 km/hr for 16 laps.
