Atlanta, GA, June 3, 2008 – Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA), importer and distributor of Porsche sports cars and Cayenne SUVs in the United States, today announced May car sales of 2,796 in the United States, representing a 16% decrease from its all-time May sales record in 2007 of 3,348. Porsche’s venerable Cayenne series continued to perform well with sales of 1,192, up 7% over May 2007 sales of 1,119. Year-to-date Cayenne sales were up 12%. Continuing to draw market strength was the recently introduced Cayenne GTS model with sales of 371.

“The Cayenne continues its strong consumer appeal in our overall lineup,” said PCNA’s President and CEO, Detlev von Platen. “I think our customers are recognizing that the Cayenne is a desirable offering in the SUV segment that is sized to fit their needs, while offering unmatched Porsche performance and advanced fuel efficiency for a very sporty vehicle. I am especially encouraged by the reaction to the new Cayenne GTS we launched earlier this year.”

For the year, sales of Porsches in the U.S. were 12,436 versus 2007’s record pace of 14,592. In a record-setting month, dealers sold 726 Porsche Approved Certified Pre-owned cars in May vs. 633 for the same period last year.
