PR – Carlisle Events Brings New Auction At Spring Carlisle

– Carlisle Events announced today the launching of an exciting new venture to be held in conjunction with its Spring Carlisle event, April 19-23, 2006. The new event is a high-end collector car auction featuring antique, collector and special interest vehicles.

The inaugural Carlisle Collector Car Auction, will be held on Friday (4-9 p.m.) and Saturday (11 a.m. – 7 p.m.), April 21-22, 2006, during its annual Spring Carlisle swap meet and car corral. The auction will take place in the new Carlisle Expo Center, located just 1 block from the 82-acre Carlisle Fairgrounds, home of Carlisle Events and its automotive show productions. The Expo Center, a $2 million addition to the Carlisle Events family, opened in October 2005. The Expo Center is a 30,000 square-foot structure able to accommodate up to 7,000 spectators.

Carlisle Events CEO, John Detrick, is excited about the new addition to the Spring Show at Carlisle. “Not only is the Spring Show one of the premier events at Carlisle, and in this hobby, but now we have this world-class auto auction to add another dimension to an already power-packed weekend.”

“We’re pleased to announce that we already have a variety of classic cars and motorcycles committed to the auction. Thus far, it’s a wide assortment of vehicles, from ‘’50s classics to 60s muscle cars and a one-of-kind, specially built motorcycle.”

· 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190 SL Roadster (gray/saddle)

· 1963 Split-Window Corvette (silver/black)
· 1967 Dodge Coronet 440 2 door hard top (white/black)
· 1971 Ford Torino GT (white/black)
· 1987 Buick Monte Carlo SS Aerocoupe (burgundy/burgundy)
· 1990 Corvette ZR1 (burgundy/black)
· 1990 Corvette L98 (black/black)

From the Lance Miller collection comes a red, 1994 Porsche Turbo 3.6; and also ready to go under the gavel are a 1963 Chevrolet Impala, a 1955 Chrysler Windsor and a new, one-of-a-kind, specialty motorcycle, with more cars being consigned daily.
