Monterey, California (August 8, 2011) – 1957 to 1959 was considered the “Golden Era” for American made automobiles. The Dodge, DeSoto and Chrysler models dominated the market with their powerful designs with soaring fins, advanced engineering and V8 engines. These automobiles were longer, lower, and wider than previous models gaining rapid popularity that has endured decades.

The true source of these automobiles popularity came from the futuristic design that characterized the optimistic, Eisenhower future that Americans were moving toward. It was an age where America was looking toward the future with a rise in the world’s technology and an increase in leisure time.
