Mike Friedlander’s involvement with muscle car began at an early age. As a teenager in the 1970’s he uncovered a 1967 GT500 that belonged to an elderly widow. He was able to convince her to sell it to him for $3500 but since he did not have anywhere close to that kind of money the more difficult task was talking his parents to loaning him the purchase price. This led to a 35 year involvement with Mustangs and Shelby’s with a few Camaro’s, Corvettes and Sunbeam Tigers thrown in for good measure.

As Friedlander’s medical career progressed he was exposed to autocross and SCCA racing which led to vintage road racing with Shelby’s and Boss 302’s. Mike continues to campaign his original factory Boss 302.

The Friedlander Collection will be up for Auction at Russo and Steele’s Collector Automobile Auction in Scottsdale, Arizona January 19th-23rd, 2011.

In 2000 Mike Friedlander expanded his car collection and purchased a retired car dealership where he opened a full in-house restoration facility. He has focused not only on his personal collection but has accepted customer restoration projects as well. He has purchased and restored a total of 25 cars, most of which have required a complete restoration. The cars offered here were completed in the Friedlander restoration facility.
