A Lamborghini took an unsuccessful short cut on the way out of Concorso Italiano on Friday, August 19. After the car bottomed out on the frame, the red-faced owner kept his cool and waited for assistance, even as onlookers thronged. Finally, a flatbed tow truck delicately worked the tires out of the sand, and the car was able to reverse onto the green, unscathed.

Meanwhile at the Quail, Rolex Best of Show went to a 1955 Ferrari 375 America, owned by Jack E. Thomas.

Stay tuned for Friday night auction highlights.
