TULSA, OK- On June 15, 1957, a brand new 1957 Plymouth Belvedere was lowered into the ground in downtown Tulsa as a part of a “time capsule” for Tulsarama 1957: a celebration of Oklahoma’s semi-centennial. In celebration of Oklahoma’s Centennial, this historical vehicle will be unearthed and on display for the public at the Tulsa Convention Center on June 15, 2007 as a part of Tulsarama 2007. This event will also feature a car show from June 15-17, 2007. A call for antique and classic car entries is now being issued for this once-in-a-lifetime car show.

The car show will feature vehicles divided into pre-1957 and post-1957 model vehicles through the 1988 model year. Any vehicle brands that fit the time frame are invited to apply. Car clubs are allowed to submit up to three vehicles of their choice for the show.

Three “Best of Show” awards will be given for: “Best Pre-1957 Car,” “Best 1957 Car” and “Best Post-1957 Car.” The selections will be made by a spectator vote and will be entered in the “Best of Show” award to be determined by the Show Committee.

The car show will be open from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday. Spectators will be charged admission.

The deadline to apply in the Tulsarama Invitational Auto Show is March 15, 2007. The show committee will review all applications by March 31, 2007 and announce those that have been accepted by April 5, 2007.
