Leake Auction Company, a Tulsa-based collector car auction company, will be featured in a new reality TV series debuting on CNBC on Tuesday, March 5 at 9pm CST. “The Car Chasers” follows Jeff Allen, Meg Bailey and Perry Barndt from Flat 12 in Lubbock, Texas as they buy, fix and flip cars while trying to turn a profit. In the premiere episode, Jeff and Perry bring seven cars to the Leake Auction in Dallas hoping to move inventory and make some money.

“There popularity of reality shows focusing on cars is huge. In the past, it has always been about building the cars. “The Car Chasers” is the first one to show the entire process of finding the car, fixing it and then taking it to auction to make  money,” stated Richard Sevenoaks, president of Leake Auction Company. “Jeff and Meg have been customers of ours for many years. This is an exciting opportunity for us. Not only does it elevate our image in the collector car world, it also attracts the new, younger car collectors out there.”;

Jeff is the dealmaker. Perry is the artist. Meg controls the money. Together, they buy, fix and flip cars but turning a profit is never a sure thing during tough economic times. Throughout the season, Jeff and Perry travel the country looking to buy and sell cars. Whether it's a rare Shelby Mustang or a vintage hot rod, the key is buy low and sell high, something that doesn't always happen. And there are other hazards when it comes to selling cars. Perhaps none bigger than negotiating with your own dad. Tom "Roundman" Souter, Jeff's dad, runs a classic car dealership right around the corner from Jeff's shop. They are not just regular trading partners; they are trading partners hell-bent on one-upmanship. Tom says doing a deal with his son is like being locked in a closet with a porcupine, "it's gonna hurt but you know it won't kill you."

Leake Auction Company was established in 1972 as one of the first car auctions in the country. More than 40 years later the auction company has sold over 34,000 cars and currently operates auctions in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Dallas. The next Leake Collector Car Show & Auction will be in Tulsa, June 7-9.
