Pick your Pontiac, from GAA Classic Car’s July 2019 sale.

The Scottsdale auctions are firmly in our rearview mirrors (be sure to check out our coverage in the latest issue of ACC), and — since our crazy little planet won’t stop spinning — there are plenty more chances to get the car of your dreams.

At the end of the month — February 27–29 — GAA Classic Cars is holding the first of their three yearly GAA Classic Cars is no touring circus, and that means you can develop a real sense of familiarity with the operation.

In fact, they are one of the few operations in the collector-car business that owns their facilities. The Automotive Palace is where they sell the collector cars. The venue holds 460 cars, seats 500 folks and even has a few skyboxes for those who don’t like to bid among the crowd. There is even a diner located on the main sales floor, with seating for 150, in case you need to refuel ‘50s style during the auction.

The flip side to that is that you need to travel to them to attend a GAA Classic sale. Should life prevent you from physically attending the sale, bidding is still possible thanks to the Internet and Proxibid. Just remember that the buyer’s fees are slightly higher for online purchases (11% versus 8% for onsite buyers and 10% for telephone buyers).

Some of the highlights at the end-of-the-month sale included a resto-mod 1955 Chevy Bel Air 2-door sedan, with just 585 miles on it post restoration. A second-to-last-year 1990 Jeep Grand Wagoneer is also on offer. It appears to be in very good condition in the photos but not perfect, and a Jeep really shouldn’t — even the top-of-the-line ones. As of this writing, the most viewed car on the GAA website is a one-of-256 1969 Dodge Hemi Super Bee. Check out that vehicle description for further breakdown of the matching-numbers Coronet.

However you end up checking out GAA, know that you’ll get to choose from over 600 cars. The 2019 sales averaged 637 cars per sale, at an average of $27,913.

So, you get a climate-controlled setting, wide selection and affordability all in one spot? How can you not stop by?

GAA Classic Cars’ sales later this year are July 23–25 and November 5–7.
