July 2017 Cover Poll: Cast Your Vote Now!

Our Art Director, David Tomaro, has created three possible cover concepts, and we’d like to know which one is your favorite. It should all take less than a minute, and your answers help determine the content of our magazine. Voting ends Saturday, May 6, at Midnight PST. If you have any additional thoughts about SCM, regarding either the print magazine or our electronic newsletter, please post them in the comments section below.

What is the primary reason someone would buy a Lamborghini Countach?
Why would someone buy a rubber-bumper MGB?
Where do you search for cars for sale on the Internet?
Vote for your favorite cover:

  • 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo Slantnose coupe

  • 1957 Jaguar Mk 1 3.4-liter Sports Saloon

  • 1953 Fiat 8V Supersonic

  1. The Jag. Bring a brolly, a pair of string-back gloves and a driving cap to be complete Collins-Hawthorne English.

  2. Not nice putting the Jag on the cover! I was one of the underbidders and should have kept going. Total non winner remorse.

  3. The Jaguar just fits, like a well worn and oiled leather chair. My sense of smell brings joy to me just sitting in her.

  4. Keith, I loving the mag…and appreciative of sections and articles on cars for us “low end” collectors.

  5. Misspelling in your text: “What is the primary reason someone would BUY a Lamborghini Countach?”

  6. a cover needs to tell a story as well as promotion for magazine sales… the two photos showing only sections of a car …and not very good at that… say nothing !! as I sit here in the bush at my old home in rural Jamaica your magazine is a saviour to my sanity 🙂

  7. Does the diminished support of air cooled Porsche’s indicate that they are fading away. I hope not I have a bunch of them.

  8. Funny comment on the MGB (rubber bumper) Have a chrome bumper with Webbers; not even in the same league!

  9. The car hobby is changing. Expensive streamlined trailers on the interstate highways behind fancy suburbans are the norm, not many of the cars get driven much, too valuable I guess, too bad.

  10. I selected cover #2 as a Jaguar Saloon has not appeared on the cover of SCM and the 3.8 Mark 2 is beautiful and with the 4 speed and Overdrive would be a awesome driving experience. I remember seeing the fantastic movie Robbery and seeing a Mark 2 Sedan driving at full speed is beautiful. I would like to see coverage of the Big Jaguar Sedans the Mark VII, VIII IX X the 3.8 and 3.4 S and the 420 as well. My next choice was cover number 1 as the Porsche 930/930S is the Ultimate Model in the 911 family. The Beauty of the Jag won me over. Great Magazine and thank you for the coverage of the Austin Healey 100-4 as an owner it made my day. How about articles on the 100-6 and 3000 Mark 1-3?

  11. I voted for the Fiat cover because it shows some of the wild and creative styling whereas the Porsche and Jaguar are rather mundane compared. Why go mild when you can go wild?
