March 2016 Cover Poll

Our Art Director, David Tomaro, has created three possible cover concepts, and we’d like to know which one is your favorite. It should all take less than a minute, and your answers help determine the content of our magazine. Voting ends Saturday, January 16, at Midnight PST. If you have any additional thoughts about SCM, regarding either the print magazine or our electronic newsletter, please post them in the comments section below.

Are you going to the auctions in Arizona this January?
How many times have you attended auctions in Arizona?
Which auctions will you be attending?
Which are you most interested in?
Vote for your favorite cover:

  • 2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP720-4 50th Anniversary coupe

  • 1956 Ferrari 290 MM by Scaglietti

  • 1962 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato

  1. Sports Car Market could benefit from retaining the services of Somer Hooker again, to cover motorcycle auctions; even if it means covering his expenses.

  2. The cover that I chose was Cover #2 the 1956 Ferrari 290MM by Scaglietti. A beautiful car and I would like to know more about this car and if was raced privately or the factory. My next choice would have been Cover #3. A beautiful Aston Martin that DB4 GT Zagato that would be an excellent match to the 250 GTO and the 250 GTSWB. A hard choice. Cover #1 is interesting but I can’t understand how the Lamborghini have sky rocketed especially the Countach while the Ferrari market have leveled out. I would like to see more articles on the softening of the classic car market and the effects the Chinese Melt down effecting the US Markets will have.

  3. I answered that I am not going to the auctions this year, and since I have never been I cant answer the other questions. If you still want to Vote the survey forces you to answer the questions, so I just had to put random answers in

  4. Voted for #3 because I love the look of the Aston Zagato and almost more importantly, it’s not another red Ferrari even though the Ferrari picture is very good. Still can’t get excited about the style of Lamborghini’s in general with their consistent hard core angular wedge theme but that seems to be the norm for “super cars” as opposed to sport cars. Thought the Lambo 350 was drop dead georgeous.

  5. Beautiful cars, so show the entire car. The “artsy” shots don’t do the cars justice, play with angles if you must but don’t just show parts and pieces of these beauties.

  6. When in Germany in 1972, a silver DB4GT sibling was pulling out of gas station — I can still see it on my left!

  7. Guys, the poll asked if I was going to the auctions. Answering NO should have grayed-out the other questions, but instead, I had to fill an answer. DUH!!

    1. Absolutely.

If you’re not going, how can you answer which one you’re going to?

You also can’t answer “never” for how many times you’ve gone.

  8. Question #2 does not include “none” as an option. This may have been the most popular choice.

  9. What were the final tally results for all the questions you asked in the March cover survey? Can I find them somewhere on the site?
