In addition to having all the fluids changed, we also had the injection flushed and made sure all the systems on the car were functioning properly.

We bought the car from an enthusiast in Yakima, Washington, several months ago – Alex and I flew up and drove it back. Everything works brilliantly, from the power windows to the air conditioning.

The paint is very nice, original on 75% of the car — I just had the driver’s side repainted by Tom Black’s garage, an excellent match, as a Ford Focus got too close and put some scratches on the Shark. There are a few rock chips on the nose. I would call it properly patinated.

The plastic covers behind the rear headrests are slightly warped from the sun (I’ve never seen one that wasn’t). The leather on the seats is excellent with no rips or tears, and the dash has no cracks.

It has period BBS wheels and Hella foglights, with paperwork. The took kit is complete.

We wanted a no-excuses, everything-works car, and we got one.

Our asking price, which is of course less than we have spent on the car, is $7,800. I believe you could get into this car and drive across the country — although my legal friends tell me I should say that it is sold as-is, where-is with no guarantees.

If you’ve had a hankering for a classic 6-series BMW, this is your chance. It’s a jump-in, go-anywhere car.
