This is a replica of the car Bill Stroppe built for Mercury to compete at the Speed trials at Daytona Beach in 1956.
1956 Custom was the cheaper body that they pulled from a local dealer, then installed the Stroppe built 368 race engine. I tried to copy the original as close a s possible but keep it streetable. The engine is a 368 bored and stroked to 433 inches. It features ported heads, Clay Smith cam, rare M-335 intake with 2 edelbrock carbs. Lincoln Continental valve covers and copies of the original forward facing headers. Engine made 435 dyno horsepower.
