438-hp, 6-liter V12, 0-60 in 5.4 seconds. 13-speaker concert system has better sound than Carnegie Hall. More room in back seat than a NYC studio apartment. Terrific suspension and brakes that make the car feel much smaller and lighter than its 1,230-inch wheelbase and 4,900 pounds.
User-cruel iDrive that requires a full-time operations assistant to heat and cool, find new radio stations and work the nav system. Maddening “rain-sensing” wipers that don’t self-park when ignition shut off. Counter-intuitive seat controls.
Mechanically, a world-class supercar with few peers. However, BMW upper-management maintains that customers will learn to appreciate the wonderful, do-everything iDrive system. Really? I think that selling a $123,000 car that makes you feel stupid would be a pretty tough proposition.
