Tiny dash switches that are impossible for we visually-challenged 50-somethings to decipher without reading glasses, notchy shifter with useless 6th gear, lofty price that will only climb with the strong Euro
The S4 mechanicals are great, but are let down by hopeless interior ergonomics, including a dash-mounted cupholder that sprays coffee like it was a crop-duster with every application of the brakes or throttle. I’d also prefer tighter spacing in the gearing, so that fourth, fifth and sixth weren’t essentially redundant. And for $50k, I’d take a larger car with a smaller engine—0-60 times are pretty irrelevant in my daily life.
