An Italian Mercedes, with style to match performance. Supercharged, 469-hp V8 whisks you to 155 mph, but I bet German-spec cars do 180. Taut-handling air suspension, giant brakes, paddle-shifters, great exhaust, concert hall stereo, trendy Kompressor.
Computer in my test car had periodic ESP failure. More of a 2-crush-2 than a 4-seater. AMG 19-inch wheels touch curbs before tires do, keeping your wheel refinisher happy.
Visually striking, people who don’t care about cars ask about this one. Expensively overqualified for daily use, but tractable and with better visibility than you’d think. Make it larger, add $250k to the MSRP, and it’s what the Maybach should have been.
