Ample power from 3.8-liter flat-6 makes driving exciting for novice and old hand alike. Interior surfaces are well laid-out, with familiar controls. “Sport” and “Sport-Plus” modes, as well as separate switches for suspension control are welcome.
Doppelklutsch, or PDK, paddle-shift automatic leaves me cold; steering wheel controls are counter-intuitive and take some getting used to. More than a little understeer, engineered in to keep less experienced drivers out of trouble.
Great car for someone who can travel light and sometimes needs to employ a 7-speed auto for Manhattan-style traffic. This is conceivably the best modern-day “banker’s express hot rod.”
