Gorgeous paint color, even if Deep Molten Red Pearl is more purple than red. Excellent handling for size and weight. Feel from steering and braking was good. Adequate visibility. Lots of interior space for stowing and carrying people. Solid build quality. Dodge has really improved their navigation and entertainment system; very easy to use.
Don’t count on using the throttle to get out of jams. Woefully underpowered and disappointing acceleration. And that’s with 290 horsepower and 260 lbs/ft of torque. Have to press down far on the throttle pedal to get vehicle to downshift. Size (199.8 inches long) and weight (4,838 lbs curb weight) limit fuel economy.
A worthwhile test drive if you’re shopping for a mid-size SUV. Higher-rated towing capacity and mileage range than Ford Explorer, Honda Pilot, and Chevrolet Traverse. I hit the 19 mpg combined fuel economy estimate, but that was with leisurely driving. The 5.7-liter V8 with an additional 130 lbs/ft of torque would make this much more desirable.
