WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – Feb. 25, 2010 – The Barrett-Jackson Auction Company has released a preliminary schedule of events for the 8th Annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Palm Beach. The automotive lifestyle event will take place April 1-3, 2010, at the Americraft Expo Center at the South Florida Fairgrounds. Barrett-Jackson will also host several gatherings in the days leading up to the auction, providing South Florida enthusiasts with more than a week of events surrounding the thriving car collecting hobby. Barrett-Jackson also announced that SPEED will broadcast more than 22 hours of live, high-definition TV coverage of the auction for fans worldwide.

“The Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach event continues to be highly anticipated by collectors in Florida and along the East Coast,” said Craig Jackson, Chairman/CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “At our annual Scottsdale event in January, we once again demonstrated the resiliency and popularity of this exciting hobby. With awareness at an all time high and buyers eager to nab their dream cars, the Palm Beach auction is a ‘can’t miss’ event this spring.”

Prior to the auction kicking off April 1, Barrett-Jackson has planned a series of public events in Palm Beach to celebrate the hobby. These events include a Road Rally, Cruise-In, Barrett-Jackson Night at CityPlace and parties to rev up local enthusiasts.

“At Barrett-Jackson we go above and beyond to create the ultimate experience for car people,” added Steve Davis, president of Barrett-Jackson. “In addition to selling a variety of vehicles in Palm Beach, we plan to make South Florida residents part of our celebration with a Road Rally and Cruise-In for local car clubs and ‘The Party’ for special guests. Then, on April 1, the main event begins with a diverse mix of desirable vehicles crossing the block at No Reserve.”

Barrett-Jackson’s annual Palm Beach event continues to grow in importance and has become a fixture in South Florida. Last year, Barrett-Jackson recorded more than $20 million in sales and welcomed over 55,000 attendees in Palm Beach; the company also raised more than $1.5 million for various local and national charities during the 2009 Palm Beach auction.
