Shannons has assembled a stunning line-up of 25 special vehicles and 27 memorabilia lots for its 10th annual auction at the Australian International Motor Show Auction on Sunday, October 19, topped by a rare and highly collectible 1969 Boss 429 Mustang.

Created for Ford’s NASCAR racing program, the Boss 429 models were designed to reach speeds in excess of 200 mph, thanks to their potent overhead camshaft 7.0-liter V8 engine.

The fully-restored red left-hand drive example being auctioned by Shannons is one of just 800 specially built for Ford by legendary race car builders Kar Kraft, and is expected to sell in the $270k-$290k price range.

Another potent American V8 muscle car from the same era in the auction is a beautiful left-hand-drive 1970 Pontiac GTO coupe that has covered just 17,300 miles from new and should sell in the more affordable $38k-$46k range.

Australia muscle cars in the auction include a very nice 1969 Falcon XW GT HO Phase I that is expected to sell in the $135k-$168k range, an increasingly collectible fully-restored 1973 Falcon XA GT (RPO83), a black, four-door 1977 Torana A9X and a spectacular, original 1950 Holden Utility.

For British and European sports car enthusiasts, there is a stunning black 1989 Porsche 911 Speedster that has covered just 54,000 kilometers from new ($75k-$88k) and a very desirable Series I Jaguar E–type roadster that was fully restored 14 years ago ($58k-$68k).

Meanwhile, vintage enthusiasts will be delighted by the beautiful 1930 Model A Tourer that recently finished second outright in the Eastern Creek Concours. It is expected to sell in the $25k-$29k range.

No Shannons auction would be complete without a range of number plates for sale, and there are eight numeric black and white NSW plates in the October 19 sale at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre.

However the plate that could attract the most interest is the NSW number plate ‘Z’, which is being offered for sale with no reserve and is expected to sell for $17k-$21k.
