Show Capsule – The General’s visit to Carlisle this season promises to be ‘power packed.’ Each year this show brings GM fans the best there is to offer. 2006 will be the ‘Year of Muscle’ with plenty of big block GMs featured in special displays and on the show field. There’s something for everyone all weekend long. If you’re planning to ogle GMs, you’ve come to the right place. You’ll find a show field of over 1,000 cars. If you are looking for a car, a part or a little memorabilia, you’ll find it in the car corral or from one of our nearly 1,500 vendors. General Motors is bringing their Camaro, Nomad and Avalanche concept vehicles. Additionally, GM is sending six historic Camaro Pace Cars from ’67, ’69, ’82, ’93, ’96 and 2002. Don’t miss them! See what your car will do on the 104+ Octane Dyno Challenge or just sit back and enjoy the wild GM Burn-outs! Informative seminars, Women’s Oasis and activities for the kids will all be a part of All-GM Nationals this year. Want to get away for a while? Go to the South Mountain Dragway on Friday night and race with the locals. From extraordinary private collections to the swap meet to the fine invitationals…The General has it all in 2006.
Camaro Concept Car – the new Camaro has a Corvette-inspired 400hp LS2 engine, six-speed manual transmission, four-wheel vented disc brakes and a chassis with four-wheel independent suspension. GM will also be sending the Nomad and Avalanche concept cars to the show.
Camaro Pace Cars – See these beauties that ‘led the parade’ in 1967, ’69, ’82, ’93, ’96 and 2002 (35th Anniversary Convertible).
GM Seminars – GM’s Camaro/Firebird Team’s Scott Settlemire will conduct two All About Camaro’s seminars and David North, retired GM Chief Designer will host two seminars on Olds and GTOs.
Special Exhibit – Baldwin-Motion – Baldwin-Motion is the premier builder of limited-production performance Chevrolet Specialty Cars. Just as they did in the ‘60s, Baldwin-Motion continues the tradition of building ultra performance, limited production 450hp SS-427 and 600hp Phase III Camaro Coupes/Convertibles. Recent accolades include “General Motors Best Design” Award at the 2005 SEMA Show, and the recent sale of the 540 Camaro SuperCoupe at the Barrett-Jackson Auction in Scottsdale for $486,000 (with buyer’s premium).

National Events – Both Full-Size Chevy Nationals and American Camaro Nationals will be holding their national events at Carlisle this year. The groups plan on large turn-outs. This Camaro gathering is the largest in the world. They plan to have over 200 cars this year.
Collectors’ Showcase – This is a new event for the General. This exhibit will feature automobiles from distinctive private collections, including COPO and Yenko cars . Bob McDorman, collector “extraordinaire” will offer up 6 of his classic vehicles. He’ll be joined by fellow-collectors Steve Sandlin and Wayne Schmeekle who bring 9 more beauties to Carlisle. This promises to be a regular event at GM going forward.
GM Invitational Display This Display will feature 16 exhibit cars from individuals, 9 Collector/Concept Cars from General Motors, a one-off Resto-Car from BALDWIN-MOTION LLC, a Special Exhibit Car from legendary drag racer Bruce Larson, as well as 15 premier vehicles from private owners that feature big-block cars of the muscle car era. The Display includes original and restored vehicles, custom and modified vehicles, as well as concept cars.
Bruce Larson – returns to Carlisle by popular demand. Larson holds 16 drag-racing, national-event titles. He owns the USA-1 Camaro Blown/Nitro AA/Funny Car. He will be on hand for autographs and discussions of drag-racing and auto history.
Dealers’ Corner – This new car dealer display will feature new vehicles from area dealers. Guests will be able to view a wide-variety of new cars being offered by the major auto manufacturers.
SCCA Autocross/Drivers’ School – The Sports Car Club of America will conduct the very popular Drivers’ School on Saturday and Autocross on Sunday. These are conducted on Carlisle Fairground’s quarter-mile six-turn mini road course.
Popular Activities – The Dyno Challenge by Axcelerated Motorsports will be available to show off your horsepower, drag racing at South Mountain Dragway, Steelyard competition, Beauty Contest and Burnouts will all take place at GM this year. And don’t forget the popular GM Car Giveaway at 3 pm. New this year, the winner gets to choose between the raffled car or $5,000 cash.
