Classic Motorcar Auctions LLC will offer a beautifully restored 1937 Cord 812 Supercharged Phaeton for sale during their 3rd annual Grande Salon Auction Sept. 15-16, 2012 during the Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles Concours d’Elegance at the historic Glenmoor Country Club in North Canton, Ohio.

Offered less than five years after a comprehensive restoration, the Cord 812 has seen less than 1,500 miles since it was restored.  It recently earned a First in Class award at the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens annual meet.

The Cord is powered by a supercharged 289 cubic inch Lycoming V8 engine with 170 HP and has a four-speed manual transmission.  It is finished in a combination of Cigarette Cream over dark green leather interior with an off-white cloth convertible top.

“This well-maintained Cord 812 comes to us from a local collector who has owned classic cars all his life, and it will be offered with complete documentation that shows no corners were cut and no expense was spared during the vehicle’s maintenance and restoration,” said Bob Lichty, president of Classic Motorcar Auctions, LLC.  “In general, supercharged models of the Cord 812 are highly desirable.  Add to that the wonderful fit and finish of this car and it’s sure to prompt eager bidding this fall.”

The Grande Salon Auction will feature more than 150 antique, classic and sports cars as well as various automotive memorabilia up for bid.  Vehicles will be available for preview on Friday, Sept. 14 from 1-8 p.m.  The auction will start with memorabilia at 10 a.m. Saturday, followed by cars at 11 a.m.

General admission is $10.  The Glenmoor Country Club is located at 4191 Glenmoor Road NW, Canton, Ohio 44718.  Classic Motorcar Auctions LLC is currently accepting consignments for the event.
