The original 2012 Concours d’Elegance of America poster art by artist Tom Hale is now completed. The artwork features the 2011 Best of Show 1938 Mercedes-Benz 540 K Autobahn Kurier owned by Arturo and Deborah Keller. Rendered in a subdued manner, The Inn at St. John’s and the background of his painting suggest an impressionistic style. Hale said, “It is important to me that this poster art looks like a painting and not a photograph.”

Hale’s art will adorn our 2012 Concours poster and program book. The original will be on display in St. John’s hotel lobby from February throughout the Concours weekend. A live auction at the Concours’ Saturday Night Gala, July 29 will feature his painting.

Tom Hale has been a full-time artist for 27 years. During that time, he has created over 3,000 original paintings and received numerous awards. Hale has created 53 event posters to date. He won the prestigious Gold Medal of Honor from the American Watercolor Society.

On Friday night, July 28, there will be a Welcome Reception and Art Preview held in conjunction with RM Auctions’ preview. Artists’ will display their works and RM will exhibit a selection of cars, to be auctioned on Saturday, in St. John’s Grande Ballroom.

The Concours d’Elegance at St. John’s also hosts an invitational automotive art show on the grounds at the Concours on Sunday, July 29, 2012. The gates open at 10:00 a.m. and the show ends at 4:00 p.m.
