(Tacoma, WA) – America’s Car Museum will hold the 30th Annual LeMay Museum Car Show & Auction sponsored by AAA at the Marymount Academy and the LeMay homestead in Tacoma, WA on Saturday, August 25, 2007 from 9am to 5pm. Visitors will be able to see over 800 vintage, classic and specialty automobiles, trucks, and motorcycles from the LeMay Collection, plus hundreds of local collector cars.

This year’s car show marks the 30th anniversary of the event started by Harold and Nancy LeMay and has become an annual fundraiser for the LeMay Museum. Nancy LeMay recalls how she and Harold received a request from friends and a couple of car clubs to show their cars, “We bought some donuts, made some coffee and said sure come on over.” What began as an annual get together has now grown into an annual event, with people numbering in the thousands flocking in from as far as Illinois, New York, and Hawaii to see the amazing LeMay collection. Last year the Museum sold nearly 7,000 tickets for the event and this year they are expecting to sell much more.

In addition to the cars, there will be automobile-related vendor displays, an auction that will be hosted by Mathers Inc. Auctioneers, vintage bicycle and motorcycle displays, a display by Roadwars Northwest featuring replica cars from TV and film, a special appearance by Vernon ‘Wez’ Wells from the movie “Mad Max,” as well as music, food vendors and more. Entry donations are $10 for adults, $20 for a family of 4, $5 for children under 12, and $5 for active-duty military. Free parking will be available offsite with free shuttle bus transportation between the parking lots, the Marymount Academy and the LeMay homestead.
