COLLECTORS FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES
SECOND QUARTER GRANTS & SCHOLARSHIPS
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (May 2006) – In its second year, the Collectors Foundation has proved itself as a necessary component of the collector car hobby. By continuing to clarify the scope of its mission, the Foundation has awarded grants to unique institutions as well as accredited universities and automotive libraries.
The Collectors Foundation is pleased to announce its second-quarter awards, which includes these new recipients:
· Crawford Auto-Aviation Museum, Cleveland, OH – $15,000 grant focusing on a program to engage youth with the museum’s collection of cars and airplanes
· Auburn Cord Duesenberg Museum, Auburn, IN – $20,000 grant awarded for the museum’s customized educational program for diverse audiences
· Missoula Transportation and Restoration Museum, Missoula, MT – $5,000 grant for retired car guys working with youth to restore cars and display them
· Northwest Museum of Arts & Culture, Spokane, WA – $1,000 support grant for a seven-month exhibition on period cars and costumes
· International Motor Racing Research Center, Watkins Glen, NY – $5,000 granted in support of the Center’s oral history project
· Horseless Carriage Foundation, a national organization – $10,000 awarded as part of the funding to scan valuable brass-era car documentation
· Berks Career & Technology Center, Reading, PA – $20,000 grant to introduce the art and science of restoration into the school’s automotive technology program
